This is the main reason for using marbles in almost every part of home improvements such as tables, staircases, counters, fireplace mantels and like more. First of all, you need to determine whether your marble flooring is natural or cultured marbles. How to determine the type of marble? This is your next question right!! Here are the some of the methods to find it out.
#1: Temperature method
Place your hand on the marble for a minute and feel it’s cool or hot temperature. Naturally, natural marble keeps your floor cool and the cultured marble keeps it hot.
#2: Acid method
Another method to determine natural marble is applying acid. Apply few drops of acid on the marble and watch if any bubbles occur. Natural marble produces bubbles when it reacts with acids and cultured marbles get damages.
#3: Scratches method
In this method, gently scratch the marble with your nail and check it’s a visible scratch or not. It is very easy to starch the natural marble and not for cultured scratch.
After determining the type of marble, based on its type, you need to choose the polishing methods. If your marble is natural, then simply follow the below steps to polish it.
To remove mild stains, simply use a soft sponge or cloth and dip it into the warm water with soap and smoothly clean the stains.
In order to remove stubborn stains, you need to add hydrogen peroxide and ammonia and dip a paper towel in it and clean the stained surfaces.
After fishing the stain cleansing process, you need to make it dry for further polishing methods. And, to dry the surfaces, you need to use dry soft cloth and rub the tiles gently to avoid damages.
Take a bucket of water and add a small amount of baking soda to it. Mix well and use it to clean the marbles.
After that, use a microfiber cloth and gently dip down on the marble floor to remove water. If you want to add marble sealant to clean the surfaces, then you can, but it’s optional.
